Lightning Falls More Around Such Places, Due To This Chemical Reaction, There Are Incidents Of Lightning

In the monsoon season, lightning strikes are happening at many places. The government is constantly worried about the incidents of lightning, cloudburst, so scientists are trying to find the reason for cloudburst, thunderstorm.

Dehradun: The wounds of the devastation caused by a cloudburst in Sarkhet, Dehradun on 19th August are still green. Here before the cloudburst, there was a heavy thunderstorm.

Now the Uttarakhand Space Applications Center has cited the limestone mountains as a major reason behind the devastation in the area. USAC (USAC) Director and Geologist Prof. MPS Bisht, USAC Director and Geologist, on the basis of ionization in the atmosphere, concluded that ‘limestone mountains attract lightning’.

Ionization:Let us tell you that in Sarkhet every monsoon season more than normal lightning incidents are reported. This reinforces the possibility that the limestone mountains here attract lightning through the process of ionization in the atmosphere. Pro. According to MPS Bisht, 78 percent nitrogen in the atmosphere and 21 percent oxygen.

Nitrogen (N2) occurs in the form of atoms in the atmosphere. When oxygen comes in contact with nitrogen with rain, it breaks down its atoms. This is followed by the formation of nitrate (N2D), which releases a large amount of negative energy, and earthing occurs when this energy comes in contact with a positive ion.

Wherever Earthing is generated, lightning will fall the most. In fact, mountains like limestone and silica also generate positive energy on a large scale due to their specific chemical properties.

This is the reason that in this process of ionization, lightning strikes are highest in such areas. The rocks start cracking due to lightning. It increases the damage between heavy rain and cloud burst events.

USAC Director Prof. According to Bisht (USAC Director and Geologist Prof. MPS Bisht), during his initial years of service in 1991, when he was working at the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, he studied the occurrence of landslides between Pipalkoti to Helang (Upper Alaknanda Catchment). was.

It was also mentioned in that study that there are more incidents of lightning in areas with limestone rocks. The Sarkhet and Bhainswara areas are also affected by landslides. At the same time, there are large landslide zones on the hills below Mussoorie. Since even the initial findings of more lightning strikes in limestone mountains have scientific basis, the need for in-depth study has increased in this direction.
