Saras Aajeevika Mela Started In Gurugram, Minister Said – Aim To Connect Women Of 10 Crore Families With Livelihood Mission

Saras Aajeevika Mela has started in Gurugram. About 500 women entrepreneurs from 27 states are participating in the Saras Aajeevika Mela. Along with this, 29 stalls of dishes from different states of the country have been set up in the fair.

Gurugram: The Saras Aajeevika Mela in Gurugram was duly inaugurated in Cyber ​​City Gurugram. It was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Panchayati Giriraj Singh and Haryana Panchayat Minister Devendra Singh Babli. In fact, this year Saras Mela has been organized twice in Gurugram. Earlier in April, Haryana Aajeevika Mission Saras Mela was organized by Haryana Aajeevika Mission. This time Saras Mela is being organized by the Ministry of Rural Development at Leisure Valley Ground, Sector 29, Gurugram in which 27 states of India are participating.

Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Panchayati Giriraj Singh said that on the day the economic power will come in the hands of sisters, no one can stop the rural development of the country. He said that the women of Self Help Groups will make a big contribution in fulfilling the Prime Minister’s dream of 5 trillion dollar economy. Along with this, he also said that by the year 2024, a target has been set to connect women of 10 crore families with the livelihood mission.

Minister Giriraj Singh said that at present 8.5 crore families have been reached. Whereas in the year 2014, when the Modi government came to power, only 2.35 crore families were associated with this system in the country. This fair will continue till 23 October. The same Union Minister also said that a target has been set to make the annual income of each sister associated with the Aajeevika Mission ₹ 10 lakh annually. He called it Mission Lakhpati.

Comparing women associated with MSME and Self Help Groups of Aajeevika Mission, the Union Minister said that there is a network of MSME industries in the country whose bank linkage is Rs 13.2 lakh crore. In contrast, the bank linkage of women belonging to self-help groups is Rs 5.5 lakh crore. The NPA of MSMEs is 9.3 percent while that of Self Help Groups is only 2.4 percent.

He told that the organization of Saras fairs started in the year 1999. Now their number has increased. He also congratulated Haryana for increasing the number of self-help groups of women. The minister said that during the time of the Congress government, only 8000 families were associated with self-help groups in the state, whose number has now increased to more than 5:30 lakh. In this sense, the Aajeevika Mission has reached 12 times more homes than before. He said that along with the Union Ministry of Rural Development, Haryana Government is also engaged in increasing the income of Self Help Groups.

Haryana Development and Panchayati Minister Devendra Singh Babli said that Saras Aajeevika Mela is the main medium to empower our rural women financially and introduce sisters from all states to each other’s customs. He said that today due to the contribution being made by the women of self-help groups in the economic progress of the country, we are all moving towards the creation of a new India. At the same time, Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav also said that many people will come to see this Saras fair.

About 500 women entrepreneurs from 27 states are participating in the Saras Aajeevika Mela being organized in Gurugram from October 7 to 23. Along with this, 29 stalls of dishes from different states of the country have been set up in the fair. During the fair, workshops will also be organized for training on packaging and design of products, communication skills, social media promotion and business to business marketing. In this, rural self-help groups and handicraftsmen will be trained. Common people can participate in this fair every day from 11 am to 9.30 pm.
