Paonta Sahib: On the second eve of Yamuna Sharad Mahotsav at Paonta Sahib in district Sirmaur, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur participated in aarti at Yamuna Ghat (CM Jairam in Yamuna Sharad Mahotsav). During this, the Chief Minister offered prayers and started the second cultural evening by lighting the lamp. At the same time, 10 thousand lamps were lit at Yamuna Ghat.
At the state level Yamuna Sharad Mahotsav, Deputy Commissioner and President Ram Kumar Gautam welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries and honored them by presenting them shawls, caps and mementos on behalf of the State Level Yamuna Sharad Mahotsav Committee. In the program of the second cultural evening of Yamuna Sharad Mohtsav, Kinnauri Naati and Bhangra were presented by the artists of NZCC (Yamuna Sharad Mahotsav in Paonta Sahib). In which the spectators sitting there were stunned.
During this, Sirmauri Naatis performed by the artists of Sirmaur compelled the audience to dance. Meanwhile, Pahari Naati star Narendra Neetu stunned everyone by singing many Pahari folk songs. During the program, as soon as the singer Shivjot of Punjab knocked on the stage, the city of Guru resonated with the applause and whistles of the audience present in the program.
Let us inform that the state level Yamuna Sharad Mahotsav is being organized in Paonta Sahib from October 7 to October 9. Which concludes today (Yamuna Sharad Festival concludes today). Energy Minister Sukhram Chaudhary will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony. On Sunday evening, a Kalash Yatra by 108 women will also be taken out from Agrasen Chowk to Main Bazaar and Yamuna Snan Ghat and in the evening the main program of Krishna Leela will be done.
CM Jai Ram Thakur, who was the chief guest on the second evening, said that the fair, Teej festivals are a reflection of the rich culture of the state. Fairs instill in us a sense of respect and dedication towards the culture. Sharad Purnima is of great importance in Hinduism and there is an unbreakable relationship between Lord Krishna and Goddess Yamuna. Apart from sharing happiness and sorrow in the fair, people also get an opportunity to know the culture of the state.
A similar occasion is provided by the state level Yamuna Sharad Mahotsav where people from the state as well as neighboring states of Haryana, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh are involved in business, cultural and sports activities. On this occasion, the Chief Minister visited the exhibitions of welfare schemes of the state government by various departments set up at the venue and released a souvenir published by the state level Yamuna Sharad Mahotsav Samiti.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various developmental projects worth Rs 6.35 crore. These include Yamuna Ghat near Yamuna Van Vihar constructed at a cost of Rs 30 lakh, beautification of drain between ward number-5 to 7 of Paonta Sahib, Nagar Parishad area at a cost of Rs 4.20 crore, all of the Municipal Council Paonta Sahib at a cost of Rs 1.30 crore. He laid the foundation stone for the parks to be constructed in 13 wards.
Apart from this, the foundation stone of Udyog Vihar to be built in industrial area Gondpur with Rs 20 lakh, foundation stone of Van Vihar Gondpur to be built with Rs 20 lakh and basketball court in Ward-7 with Rs 15 lakh was laid. On this occasion, Minister for Multipurpose Projects and Energy Sukhram Chaudhary was also present in the program (Sukhram Chaudhary in Yamuna Sharad Festival). He said that during the tenure of the present state government, unprecedented development has taken place in Paonta Sahib assembly constituency. The credit for which goes to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
Energy Minister Sukhram Chaudhary said that it is his dream to make Paonta Sahib Assembly Constituency the ideal assembly constituency of the state, for which he is striving. He said that two new sub-tehsils at Rajpur and Khodowala in Paonta Sahib and 11 new Patwar circles in addition to two new Kanungo circles at Rajpura and Bhatanwali have been made functional to provide revenue related facilities to the people at doorstep.
Apart from this, electricity is being given at the rate of 30 paise per unit to provide irrigation facility to the farmers’ fields. More than 14 lakh electricity consumers of the state are getting the benefit of free electricity scheme up to 125 units (Sukhram Chaudhary in Paonta Sahib).
