Djokovic Wins 90Th Singles Title Of His Career

World number seven Novak Djokovic defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 6-4 in the final of the Astana Open.

Astana: Serbian star Novak Djokovic won his 90th career ATP singles title with a straight sets 6-3, 6-4 victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas. This is Djokovic’s fourth title in the current season. Djokovic won the Wimbledon Grand Slam in July. It took 75 minutes for the Serbian player to win the final match of the Astana Open.

Earlier, Djokovic had reached the final after retiring from a leg injury to rival Daniil Medvedev, shortly after avoiding a second-set tiebreaker in the Astana Open semi-finals on Saturday. With Medvedev retiring, Djokovic reached the title clash 4-6, 7-6 (6). In the second semi-final, Tsitsipas defeated fifth seed Andrey Rublev 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
