New Delhi: Border personnel under BSF South Bengal Frontier on the India-Bangladesh International Border have seized 317 mobile phones floating in the Pagla River. Which was going towards Bangladesh with the flow of the river.
According to a BSF spokesperson from Delhi Headquarters, the soldiers of Lodhia, the border outpost of BSF South Bengal Frontier, conducted a search operation on the basis of intelligence sources. During this, he saw some plastic containers tied to banana stems in the Pagla river, which were going towards Bangladesh with the river’s current. The alert soldiers immediately took the containers out of the river and when they opened them, 317 mobile phones of different companies were found in them, the value of which is being told as 38 lakh 83 thousand rupees.
The Commanding Officer of the BSF South Bengal Frontier 70th Corps said that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh border, due to which people involved in activities like smuggling are getting in trouble and some of them are even caught. Those who are going to be punished according to the law. At present, the BSF personnel have confiscated the recovered mobile phone and handed it over to the police station English Bazar for further legal action.
