A total of 12 people have been injured in a two-storey building collapse in Old Delhi’s Lahori Gate police station area. In the accident, three people including a girl child have died in the hospital while the other 9 injured are being treated at Delhi’s LNJP Hospital.
New Delhi: A two-storey building collapsed in Fraskhana under Lahori Gate police station area of Old Delhi. A total of 12 people have been injured in the accident. During treatment, three people including a girl child have died in the hospital while the other 9 injured are being treated at Delhi’s LNJP Hospital.
This old and dilapidated building collapsed due to continuous rain in Delhi for the last two days. The incident was reported to the fire department, local police and disaster management. On receiving the information, fire tenders reached the spot, after which the injured buried under the debris were pulled out and were immediately admitted to the nearest hospital for treatment. Even after 12 hours of the accident, two fire tenders are working with the rescue team to clear the debris. More people are likely to be trapped under the debris.
Let us tell you that this two-storey building was old, due to the continuous rain for two days, the upper part of the building collapsed, due to which the whole building was filled to the ground. In the last two months, many incidents of collapse of buildings and fire have come to the fore in the Old Delhi area itself. Recently, the building collapsed in Sheesh Mahal and Sadar Bazar area, in which two children going from the road were killed. There was also a case of fire in the building in Chandni Chowk area.
However, when accidents happen in Delhi, tall claims are made on paper to remove old and dilapidated buildings and clear the way. But, after the incident becomes old, no action is take on it, due to which there are frequent accidents in Delhi due to the collapse of old and dilapidated buildings during the rainy days.
