Expressing his reaction on the meeting of the Chief Ministers of Punjab and Haryana in Rohtak, former state president of Aam Aadmi Party, Jaihind said that the Sutlej-Yamuna link canal issue is not a new case. This matter started with the formation of Haryana state.
Rohtak: Former state president of Aam Aadmi Party Naveen Jaihind has reacted to the meeting of Punjab Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on the issue of Sutlej-Yamuna Link Canal.
He said that the issue of canal dispute is not new, but this dispute started with the formation of a new state of Haryana and continues as it is. Since the formation of Haryana, how many governments have been formed in the state, everyone has limited this issue only to bake their political loaves and till now almost all the political parties have kept committee till vote on SYL issue. Now on Friday, the meeting of the Chief Minister of Haryana and Punjab was limited to drinking tea only.
Jaihind said that till now all the political parties in Haryana have fooled the people of the state by keeping the SYL issue between Haryana and Punjab limited to votes on the issue of taking water from Punjab, while the Supreme Court A long time has passed since the court gave its decision to give water in favor of Haryana.
It is the negligence of the state government that even though there is a BJP government at the center, the Haryana government could not get Haryana its due by taking the water of SYL from Punjab, whereas when there is an opposition government in the state, all the political parties are giving the people their due. Keep on confusing.
The former state president of AAP said that Rs 1 crore has also been given by the government in 1976. In the same dispute, after the Rajiv-Longowal agreement in July 1985, 1 month later, on August 1985, Longowal was also shot dead by the militants. Jaihind said that Haryana has the right on the water of SYL. No one is begging for Haryana SYL from Punjab. He appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the Central Government should resolve the SYL dispute at the earliest by getting Haryana its share of water.
