Narcotics Squad has arrested a foreign drug smuggler in the case of drug smuggling. 307 grams of charas has been recovered from the smuggler. The accused has been identified as Thawe Edward, who is originally from Tanzania.
New Delhi: The team of Narcotics Squad of South Delhi has arrested a foreign drug peddler in connection with the case of foreign drug smuggler. 307 grams of charas has been recovered from the peddler. The accused has been identified as Thawe Edward, who is originally from Tanzania. At present the accused lives in Maidan Garhi, Delhi and he came to India in the year 2021 on a student visa.
South Delhi District Deputy Commissioner of Police Chandan Choudhary said that the team of narcotics of South district was specially tasked to check the cases of smuggling of illicit liquor and drugs in the area. The team was continuously investigating. Meanwhile, the team received a secret information, in which it was told that an accused involved in drug smuggling would come to Pushp Vihar. The information was shared with senior officers and a team was formed under the leadership of Narcotics Inspector Anand Jha by ACP Rajesh Kumar, which included SI Narendra, ASI Surendra, ASI Ramdhari, Head Constable Sanjay, Praveen, Constable Vishal and Chotu was included.
On the basis of information, the team laid a trap near Khokha Market Road Sector 1 Pushp Vihar. After some time a person was seen roaming under some suspicious circumstances. On being signaled by the informer, he was asked to stop, but instead of stopping, he started moving. Police personnel chased him and caught him. During the search, 307 grams of high quality heroin was recovered from his possession. The police arrested the accused and registered a case against him under the NDPS Act and started further investigation.
