Employees of Ukraine’s president say the capital Kyiv was attacked by a kamikaze drone.
Kiev: Staff of Ukraine’s president say the capital Kiev was attacked by a ‘kamikaze drone’. According to a top Ukrainian official, Russia attacked Kyiv on Monday morning with a ‘kamikaze’ drone. “The Russians think it will help them, but these actions smacks of desperation,” Andrey Yermak, chief of staff to the Ukrainian president, said in a statement.
“We need more air defense as soon as possible,” the statement said. We don’t have time to delay. We need more weapons to protect the sky and destroy the enemy.’ Earlier on October 11, Russia carried out air strikes on Ukraine. At least 19 people were killed in the attacks carried out a day earlier.
The UN Human Rights Office described the attacks as “shocking” and said they could amount to a war crime. Air strike warnings were issued across Ukraine on the morning of October 11, and after months of peace in Kyiv and several other cities, some residents were sent back to safe havens. On Monday, Russia bombed the Ukrainian capital and 12 regions. Volodymyr Vasilenko, a 67-year-old resident of the capital, Kyiv, said the attacks are not fear but anger.
“We are used to it and we will continue to fight,” he said. Russia bombed power plants and civilian areas on Tuesday. He did the same on Monday. The state emergency service said one person was killed and a massive fire broke out after 12 missiles hit public places in the southern city of Zaporizhzhya.
