Indian shooters continue their stellar performance in the ISSF World Championships. The shooters have won four more gold medals. In the medal tally, India is at the second position with a total of 20 medals.
Cairo: Indian junior shooters on Tuesday won four more gold medals in the ongoing ISSF World Championship 2022 in Egypt. With four medals, India’s total medal tally has gone up to 20, which includes nine gold, three silver and eight bronze medals. India is at the second position in the medal tally while China is at the first position. China has won a total of 37 medals in the championship including 18 gold medals.
On the sixth day of the competition, the Air Pistol team of Esha Singh, Shikha Narwal and Varsha Singh won India the first gold medal. India defeated China 16-6 in the gold medal match. After this, the trio of Ramita, Nancy and Tilottama Sen won India a gold medal in the junior rifle team event. Indian team defeated China 16-2.
The third gold medal for India was won by the men’s air rifle team. The trio of Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar, Shri Karthik Sabri Raj Ravi Shankar and Vidit Jain defeated the Chinese team 17-11 in the final. The junior mixed team of Payal Khatri and Adarsh Singh won the fourth gold medal for India in the 25m rapid fire pistol event.
