Stock Market Closed Today On Guru Nanak Jayanti


Indian stock market is closed today on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. Today’s holiday will be the last for the current calendar year 2022.

New Delhi: Indian stock markets will remain closed today on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. Normal business will resume on Wednesday. Today’s holiday will be the last for the current calendar year 2022. There were 13 trading holidays this year, as per the list available on the exchange websites.

On Monday, Indian stock indices traded largely stable with a positive bias and the rupee gained significantly against the US dollar. The Sensex closed 234.79 points or 0.39 per cent higher at 61,185.15, while the Nifty was up 85.65 points or 0.47 per cent at 18,202.80. was trading on points.

The rupee edged up by 43 paise to close at a one-month high of 81.92 against the US dollar, as against the previous session’s close of 82.44. Fresh return of foreign fund inflows and a relative weakness in the US dollar supported the rupee’s strength.

Data from National Securities Depository Limited shows that foreign portfolio investors have bought equities worth Rs 16,878 in India so far in November. Foreign portfolio investors were net sellers in October and September amid a strong US dollar index, a weak rupee and tightening of monetary policy.
