Adelaide: Rohit Sharma Resumes Practice After Getting Injured During Practice


Rohit Sharma suffered a right hand injury during the practice session. After this he immediately took the help of physio and returned for practice again after a while.

Adelaide: India captain Rohit Sharma suffered an arm injury during an optional practice session here on Tuesday, raising concerns ahead of India’s T20 World Cup semi-final against England. Rohit was doing the normal drill of the practice. He was facing the team’s throwdown specialist S Raghu at the Adelaide Oval when a short-pitch ball jumped quickly and hit his right arm. The Indian captain missed an attempt to play a pull shot and the ball quickly hit his arm. It was clear that he was in a lot of pain and he immediately left the practice session.

A big ice pack was tied on his right arm. He looked very upset when he was watching the practice session from a distance. Mental adaptation coach Paddy Upton spoke with her in the meantime. After applying the ice pack and taking some rest, Rohit resumed practice but the throwdown specialist was instructed not to bowl too fast and in the meantime the Indian captain played mostly defensive shots to see if Whether the movement of his hand is correct or not.

It was not known how serious the injury was. The Indian medical team will assess his injury after the practice session.
