New Delhi: Presenting the Budget 2023, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a new subvention scheme for fisheries. Concessional scheme will come under PM Matsya Sampada Yojana. 6000 crore has been announced for this. The Finance Minister said that an agriculture fund will be created to encourage agri-startups by young entrepreneurs. Government’s emphasis on creating agriculture startups in rural India, is emphasizing on making India a global hub for millets.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that attention will be given to nutrition, food security and the interests of farmers. Many types of millets are cultivated in India. This includes Jowar, Bajra, Ramdana etc. Which is also called Srianna. Government of India is promoting coarse grains.
The Finance Minister has said that in the new budget, there is a proposal to increase the agriculture credit target to Rs 20 lakh crore. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that priority will be given to startups related to agriculture. For this, an Agriculture Accelerator Fund will be created to encourage agri-startups by young entrepreneurs. Along with this, the fund for PM Awas Yojana was increased by 66%. Due to which now a fund of 79 thousand crores will be given.
