Doval and Miley met here on Monday at India House, the official residence of India's ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu. There was a meaningful discussion on various aspects of Indo-US bilateral cooperation. Doval arrived in the US with a delegation for the first high-level meeting of the Initiative for Critical and Emerging Technologies (ICET) with his American counterpart Jake Sullivan. ICET was mentioned in a joint statement for the first time after the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden in Tokyo in May 2022. Sandhu hosted a reception in Doval's honor in the evening, which was attended by US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, National Science Foundation Director Sethuraman Panchanathan, NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) Several senior officials of US President Joe Biden's administration attended, including Administrator Bill Nelson. The reception was attended by industry leaders, academicians and members of research institutes. Sandhu tweeted, 'A unique and special welcome at India House. Practical talks were held on building bilateral cooperation in important and emerging technology.
