He wrote with the shared post ‘Presenting the official trailer of Shiv Shastri Balboa! It is set to hit the theaters on February 10, 2023. The story of Anupam’s new film revolves around its central character Shiv Shastri, who is retired from India and is a big fan of the film Rocky. During the trip, he moves to the USA, which depicts an unlikely road trip through the American heartland. Along with this it is also shown that you can prove yourself again and it never gets old.
In the trailer, Anupam is introduced not as a boxer but as a person training boxers who have won gold medals. After meeting his son in the USA, he feels bad after realizing that his grandson has no idea about Rocky. As events unfold, Anupam meets Neena Gupta’s character, who wants to visit India as she has not been home for eight years.
Talking about the film, Anupam Kher said, ‘It is a very special film for me. Shiv Shastri Balboa is a challenging film and it is important to make challenging films, me and Neena Gupta worked for a year. Stardom comes and goes but hard work stays with you.
Director Ajayan Venugopal said, ‘It was a very small crew and it was like a family with hardly 40 people in the crew. We had a lot of fun while filming this… It’s been a long journey and we are very happy and energetic. Nargis Fakhri further said, it was a big advantage for me that I became a part of the film. I am lucky and I really enjoyed playing my character. He told that my role is very interesting. I enjoy the role whether it is big or small and Anupam ji always helps me…like my mentor.
