Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the Union Budget 2023 in the Parliament for the financial year 2023-24. Along with this, this is the last full budget of the second term of the Modi government. On the other hand, the Delhi government is expected to get more funds from the general budget this time.

New Delhi: The Kejriwal government has high hopes from the Union Budget 2023. He believes that the two crore population of the capital has been getting step-motherly treatment till now, but this time it will not happen. He said that the grant received in lieu of share in central taxes has been getting only Rs 325 crore for the last two decades without any increase, while the people here pay tax of Rs 1.5 lakh crore to the central government.

The AAP MP said that the municipal corporation, which is facing financial crisis, is also expected to get funds from the central budget. He said that he had demanded Rs 12,000 crore from the Center to bail out the Municipal Corporation of Delhi from the financial crisis. Despite this, not even a single rupee was allocated last year. The Finance Minister of Delhi says that similarly, the central government will also increase the amount received as grant for Disaster Response, we had also demanded this. In the year 2021, Delhi got Rs 161 crore under this head, whereas in 2022 it was reduced to just Rs 5 crore. In this regard, the Delhi Government has also sent a proposal in the meeting with the Finance Minister.
