Mandi/Gohar: In Dadi village of Basa panchayat of Gohar sub-division of Mandi district, an elderly person died on the spot in a family fight on Friday. At the same time, the police have started investigating the matter by taking possession of the dead body. According to the information, 76-year-old Punu Ram and his family were present at home around 5 pm on Friday evening.
Punu Ram’s daughter Sita Devi had also come to her maternal home, but a quarrel started between Punu Ram’s daughter-in-law Jamna Devi and Sita Devi over some issue. The quarrel took so much force that 76-year-old Punu Ram had to intervene to stop the quarrel. In the midst of their quarrel, Punu Ram got a deep injury on his head when he was pushed.
Due to which Punu Ram was seriously injured. After this, Punu Ram was immediately taken to Civil Hospital Gohar by the relatives, but the doctor declared him dead on reaching the hospital. In-charge of Civil Hospital Gohar, Dr. Gautam told that Punu Ram had already died before reaching the hospital. Police has been informed about this and the body has been sent to Nerchowk Medical College for postmortem.
The matter is being thoroughly investigated – SP Mandi Shalini Agnihotri has confirmed the matter. He said that the police have registered a case after reaching the spot. He said that the matter will be thoroughly investigated. At present everyone is being questioned. Please tell that old man Punu Ram was 76 years old and was trying to calm down the fight between his daughter-in-law and his daughter.
