Dekho Apna Desh: While presenting the 2023-24 budget, Nirmala Sitharaman said on Wednesday that the central government will launch the ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ initiative to promote domestic tourism.
National Financial Information Registry: The government will set up National Financial Information Registry to facilitate credit delivery and enhance financial stability. Sitharaman also said that financial sector regulators will be asked to conduct a comprehensive review of existing regulations.
IT portal to be launched: An integrated IT portal will be launched to recover unclaimed shares and dividends, said Nirmala Sitharaman. He said the government will also set up a single window system for registration and approval at IFSC Gift City. A central processing center will also be set up for quick response to companies filing forms under the Companies Act, he said.
Mahila Samman Saving Certificate: In addition to this, Nirmala Sitharaman said that a one-time new small savings scheme Mahila Samman Saving Certificate will be made available for two years till 2025. 2 lakh can be kept for 2 years. The interest rate will be 7.5 percent. This money can be kept till March 31, 2025.
